6) Do not place bottles in the freezer compartment, except for high alcoholic content

liquids, because they can burst.

7) Do not use the freezer compartment to cool hot foods. This causes unnecessary frost

formation.

Warning! Defrosted foods cannot be refrozen. Prepare fresh food to be frozen in small

portions suitable to be consumed in one meal. Also follow the same procedure for already

cooked foods and consume them completely after defrosting.

Salt reduces the storage life of all frozen foods.

We recommend that fresh or already cooked food be frozen with little or no salt. Impor-

tant: food storage life is about three times longer without salt! Therefore add salt and

spices at a later stage, during food preparation!

Defrosting the freezer compartment

Air humidity which enters when the door is opened collects on the evaporator, in particular

on the upper part, causing a build-up of frost.

To avoid excessive frost formation do not leave the door open more than necessary. The

formation of a thin layer of frost i.e. the one which forms on the front edge of the freezer,

does not require defrosting. Remove this layer by means of a plastic scraper (do not use

knives or similar objects).

Whenever the thickness of the ice layer exceeds 3-4 mm, the appliance must be de-

frosted.

Even if the ice layer is not thick, the freezer compartment should be defrosted and cleaned

at least once a year.

To carry out complete defrosting, proceed as follows:

1) Remove the plug from the wall socket or turn the thermostat knob to position «O».

2) Remove all stored food, wrap it in newspaper sheets and put it in a container (vessel or

cardboard box, etc.) in a cool place until cleaning of the freezer compartment has been

completed.

3) Leave the freezer compartment door open.

4) Do not remove the ice or frost layer using sharp tools. Do not use any heat diffuser or

spray.

Do not use a mechanical device or any artiﬁcial means to speed up the thawing

process.

5) Dry the water which has collected during defrosting using a sponge or cloth.

6) Clean the inside using a normal domestic detergent.

7) After cleaning thoroughly dry the inside.

8) After defrosting and cleaning turn the thermostat knob to 5-6 and leave it for 3-4 hours.

After this period do not forget to reset the knob to the normal position 3-4 (mid posi-

tion)!

9) Replace the deep-frozen food in the compartment.
