Installation
For the mounting location, it is advisable to choose a place where the safe cannot be directly
viewed or easily accessed. For example, this can be behind a closet door or behind rows of
books, folders or similar objects.
An ideal place can be also a partition (hollow) wall; the door may be hidden, e.g. behind a
picture.
Protect the safe against damp or moisture. Therefore, do not mount the safe in
damp rooms or humid cellars.
Using the holes in the body frame of the safe, you can mount it on the wall or on the oor or
another stable surface.
If the safe is locked upon delivery, use the keys enclosed to open it.
The corresponding lock is hidden behind a small, thin plastic cover, which is situated
immediately to the right of the closing handle.
Depending on the mounting surface, appropriate screws and, if necessary, dowels should be
used. If the mounting surface allows for it, additional fastening with e.g. special glue is also
possible.
Opening/closing the safe with the key
This may be needed, if the batteries are low or at and the safe cannot be opened by
entering the access code. Moreover, the safe can be operated without the batteries,
if required.
Remove the rectangular plastic cover from the lock; it is
situated directly to the right of the closing handle.
Insert the key in the lock in the correct position and turn
a bit to the left counter-clockwise.
Keeping the key in this position, turn the locking grip to
the right up to the stop. Remove the key from the lock
and open the safe door.
Before you close the safe, the safe door should be closed. Then turn the locking grip to the
left up to the stop to make the lock latch.
Check the locking; turning the grip to the right should not be possible now.
If you inadvertently turn the locking grip to the left while the safe door is open, so that
both lock bolts project out of the safe door (and the safe door won’t close), proceed
as described above when opening the safe.
Inserting / replacing batteries
Open the safe using the keys as described above.
Open the battery case at the back of the door; to do this, slide the cover backwards until it can
be removed.
Insert two batteries of type AA/Mignon observing correct (+/plus and -/minus) polarity.
Close the battery compartment again.
Replacing the batteries is necessary, when the red LED lights up when you open the safe
or the safe cannot be opened by entering the code. The access code is retained during the
battery change.
If the safe does not respond to entries on the number pad, it can also be opened
using the keys enclosed. The corresponding lock is situated under a thin plastic
cover right to the closing handle; see image above.
Operation
a) Opening the safe using an access code
Enter the code and then press either the button “A” or “B”. For each press of a button, a beep
sounds and the “PROCEED” LED lights up brie y.
In the basic setting, “159” is pre-programmed as the code; here, the button sequence
“159A” or “159B” should be pressed.
When the code is correct, the green “READY” LED will light up and two beeps will be heard.
Within 5 seconds, turn the locking grip to the right up to the stop and open the door. If the
locking grip is not moved, the lock will automatically latch after these 5 seconds for safety
reasons.
If the code is incorrect, 3 beeps will be heard. Three wrong entries will block the keypad for
20 seconds and an alarm beep sounds during this time.
Before you close the safe, the safe door should be closed. Then turn the locking grip to the
left up to the stop to make the lock latch.
Check the locking; turning the grip to the right should not be possible now.
If you inadvertently turn the locking grip to the left while the safe door is open, so that
both lock bolts project out of the safe door (and the safe door won’t close), proceed
again as described above when opening the safe.
b) Setting a new access code
Initially, open the safe door as described above.
On the back side of the safe door (near the door axis
on the inside of the door), there is a hidden button; see
the circle on the gure on the right.
Brie y press the button. The yellow “PROCEED” LED
lights up and 2 beeps will be heard.
Enter a 3- to 8-digit code and then brie y press either
the button “A” or “B” (example: 123456A). If two beeps
are heard, the new code is saved.
If the yellow “PROCEED” LED ashes and 3 beeps are
heard, the code is invalid (e.g. when a 2-digit code was
entered). Start over entering a new code; see above.
