Explanation of the Symbols and Signal Words

Danger symbol: This symbol indicates dangers of injury.

Read through the associated safety notices carefully and

follow them.

Symbol for direct current

Read the operating instructions before use!

WARNING warns of possible serious injuries and danger to life

CAUTION warns of slight to moderate injuries

NOTICE warns of damage to property

Intended Use

• These articles are used for decoration.

• The articles are designed for private, non-commercial use.

The articles should only be used as described in these operat-

ing instructions. Any other use is deemed to be improper.

Safety Instructions

■ The articles are not a toy. Do not leave children and animals

unsupervised with the articles in order to avoid injuries!

■ WARNING – Danger of Suﬀ ocation! Keep the packaging

material away from children and animals.

■ WARNING – Danger of Burns from Battery Acid! Batteries

can be deadly if swallowed. Therefore keep batteries and the

article out of the reach of children and animals. If a battery is

swallowed, seek medical assistance immediately.

■ CAUTION – Danger of Burns from Battery Acid! If a battery

leaks, avoid physical contact with the battery acid. Wear pro-

tective gloves. If you touch battery acid, rinse the aﬀ ected area

with abundant fresh water immediately and contact a doctor as

soon as possible.

NOTICE – Risk of Damage to Material and Property

■ Use the articles indoors only.

■ Use only the battery types speciﬁ ed in the technical data.

■ Always replace all batteries together. Do not use batteries of

diﬀ erent types or brands, or batteries with diﬀ erent capacities.

■ Take the batteries out of the articles when they are dead or if

the articles are not going to be used for some time. This will

prevent any damage if a battery leaks.

■ Take any leaking batteries out of the product immediately and

clean the contacts.

■ Never immerse the articles in water or other liquids!

■ Only use and store the articles within the normal ambient tem-

peratures of up to +40°C.

■ Protect the articles from heat sources, naked ﬂ ames, wet con-

ditions, persistent moisture and impacts.

■ Do not place any heavy objects on the articles.

■ Do not use any corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents so that

the surface is not damaged. If necessary, wipe down the arti-

cles with a slightly damp cloth. Then dry them thoroughly.

■ Do not take the

articles

apart and do not attempt to repair them.

Contact the customer service department if there is any dam-

age.

Check the items supplied for completeness and the components

for transport damage. If there is any damage, do not use the arti-

cles but contact our customer service department.

For each lantern 3 batteries (1.5 V type AA) are required

for operation. They are not included in the items supplied.

Putting into Operation

Proceed as follows for each lantern:

1. Open the battery compartment on the bottom of a lantern:

Undo the screw on the battery compartment with a small

screwdriver and remove the battery compartment cover.

2. Insert three 1.5 V batteries, AA type. Ensure the correct polar-

ity (+ / –).

3. Insert the battery compartment cover and screw it tight.

4. Push the switch on the bottom of the lantern to the ON or the

TIMER position to switch it on. In the ON position the lantern

stays on continously, in the TIMER position the lantern switch

oﬀ automatically after 6 hours and switch on again after 18

hours (24-hours-mode).

5. Push the switch to the OFF position to switch the lantern oﬀ .

If the performance of the article diminishes, the batteries should

be replaced.

Cleaning and Storage

• When cleaning, dust oﬀ the articles with a soft, dry cloth. More

intense soiling can be wiped oﬀ with a damp cloth.

• Keep the articles out of the reach of children and animals in a

dry place that is protected from direct sunlight when they are

not being used.

Disposal

Dispose of packaging materials in an environmentally

sound way and take recyclables to collection facilities.

Remove the batteries before disposing of the articles and

take them to the appropriate collection site separately from

the articles.

These articles are subject to European Directive 2012/19 / EU

on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). Do

not dispose of the articles as normal household waste, but

through an oﬃ cially approved disposal business according

to environmental regulations.
