4.0 Using the ShowBiz DVD 2 software

The ShowBiz DVD software enables you to convert video images from, for instance,

your camera or video recorder to several types of media files. In this chapter we will

explain how to transfer the video images to your computer. We will also explain the

additional functions of the software.

Note! If you need more help with the different settings you can press the F1 key. A

new screen will appear, covering all the possible settings of the software. You will also

find more information on the other functions of the software.

During this chapter we will assume you have video recorder connected to your

computer using the EM3705.

4.1 Recording images

1. Click ‘Start’.

2. Click ‘All Programs’.

3. Click ‘ArcSoft ShowBiz DVD 2’. A new screen with five options will appear.

4. Click the second option, ‘Capture, create or edit videos’. A new screen will

appear.

5. On the top of the screen you will see three options. Select ‘Capture’.

Note! Before you start recording images you can configure a number of items

concerning the video and audio quality. Click the ‘Video’ tab on the bottom of the

screen for these settings.

If you also want to record audio you will need to check ‘Record Audio’ on the ‘Audio’

tab. You can then indicate the source of the audio signal..

6. Turn on the video recorder and click the play button on the device or its remote

control to start playback of the video tape. On your screen you will see the image

being played back.

7. Search for the beginning of the part you wish to record.

Note! If you connect certain devices to the EM3705 (for instance a DV camera) a

number of buttons will appear (e.g. play, fast forward, rewind.) which allow to search.

If these buttons do not appear, you can use the buttons on the device or its remote

control.

8. Click the ‘Record’ button. A new screen will appear.

9. Enter the location where you wish to save the file in the ‘File Name’ field.

10. Select whether you want to save the file as .AVI or as .WMA in the ‘Format’ field.

11. Check ‘Set Capture Duration’ to be able to indicate the length of the recording

session.
