1. Install dedicated software, "Epson iLabel"

Using the Printer

Place a tape cartridge in the printer as shown.

Pass the end of the tape

through the gap.

Close the printer cover.

CAUTION

Always use dedicated tape cartridges having

the

symbol. Always perform the tape feed

operation after inserting a tape cartridge.

Remove any slack in the tape inside the tape

cartridge.

Use a pen or

a pencil.

Pull the tab to open the printer cover.

Using the AC adapter

CAUTION

Always use the included AC adapter.

Connect the included AC adapter

(AST1116Z1-1) to the printer, and plug the

power plug into a power outlet.

Peel o the backing paper of the printed label to stick it onto an

object.

Using mobile device

Use the dedicated application "Epson iLabel" to create and print

labels.

Using computer

Create labels with the label editing software "Label Editor" and print.

See the following manual for the procedure:

Label Editor User's Guide.

Peel o the backing paper.

Attach the label and rub it  rmly.

Printer Setup

Printer power does not turn ON.

• Check that the power cable is connected properly, or that

batteries have been properly inserted. If the power still does not

turn ON, contact your place of purchase or the Epson Customer

Support Center.

• If a message is displayed on your computer or mobile device

screen, check the message information.

Unable to perform Bluetooth connection (pairing) with the

printer

• Check to see if the printer's

lamp is fading in and out. If not,

enable Bluetooth on the printer and then try performing the

operation.

• Check that the printer communicating with another mobile

device. If the printer is already communicating with one mobile

device, it is unable to communicate with another mobile device.

• If a message is displayed on your mobile device screen, check

the message information.

Connection was interrupted during connection (pairing) with the

printer.

• Check to see if the printer's

lamp is fading in and out. If not,

enable Bluetooth on the printer and then try performing the

operation.

• If the printer is connected to a computer with a USB cable

while the printer is communicating with a mobile device, the

communication with the mobile device is terminated. Terminate

the printer's connection to the computer, then redo the pairing

setting.

• If a message is displayed on your mobile device screen, check

the message information.

iOS Android

Download from:

Check that Bluetooth is enabled on the printer before

performing the procedure.

The lamp fading in and out when

Bluetooth is enabled on the printer.

If Bluetooth is disabled on the printer, enable Bluetooth

following the steps described below.

Press the button to turn the printer power OFF.

Press the button and the Bluetooth button at the

same time.

CAUTION

Place your mobile device no more than one meter away from the

printer when making the settings.

Android Devices

Turn the mobile device power ON and start the "Epson iLabel"

software.

From "Settings" in the home screen, tap "Wireless & Network"

and check "Bluetooth" checkbox.

Tap "Scan for devices".

Scanning starts.

It may take some time for the printer to be displayed.

The printer is displayed when scanning has  nished. Tap the

printer.

Pairing is completed.

iOS Devices

Turn the mobile device power ON.

From "Settings" in the home screen, tap "General". Then,

select "Bluetooth", and turn the "Bluetooth" selection ON.

The printer is displayed under "Devices". Tap the printer.

When a message to con rm connection with the printer

appears, tap "Pair".

It may take some time for the printer to be displayed.

Pairing is completed.

CAUTION

• The editing software and printer driver must be installed in the computer

before doing the steps below. See the following manual for the

procedure: Label Editor User’s Guide.

• Do not connect the printer and computer before installing the software.

Connect the printer as directed in the installation screen.

Start the computer, and connect the

included USB cable.

When printer is connected to a mobile device using a

Bluetooth connection

Press the button to turn the printer power OFF.

Turn o Bluetooth on your mobile device.

Connect the USB cable to the printer's

USB port.

Using batteries

CAUTION

Always use AA-size alkaline dry cell batteries.

Open the battery cover at the bottom of

the printer.

Insert batteries.

Batteries: AA alkaline battery x 6

Close the battery cover.

You can use the printer by one of the two methods below.



Meanings of lamps

The lamps indicate printer statuses.

Lamp's condition

Printer status

: Depends on printer operation status

Fading in and out Bluetooth enabled.

Lit Bluetooth connection completed.

Flashing quickly Performing operation such as printing or label cutting.

Printer error. Check the message displayed on the connected computer or the

mobile device.

When printer is connected to computer with a USB cable

Press the button to turn the printer power OFF.

Disconnect the USB cable.

Unplug the power cable from the outlet, and disconnect the

AC adapter plug from the printer.

When Finished Using Printer

Printer does not print when print operation is directed.

• If a message is displayed on your computer or mobile device

screen, check the message information.

• Check that connection cables are connected properly, that the

tape cartridge is mounted properly, and that the cover is closed

properly.

• Have you selected the printer to be used? Printing will not be

done properly if another printer is selected.

• Did you restart the computer after installing the printer driver?

The printer driver may not be installed correctly if the computer

was not restarted. Reinstall the printer driver.

Text is not printed properly.

Check that the tape cartridge is properly mounted.

Lines appear on printed labels.

The print head is dirty. Clean the print head. See "Cleaning".

Canceling a print job

Check the printer's power in ON, then press

button on the front

of the printer brie y once.

Labels are not cut automatically

Is the cutter blade worn? Prolonged use of the cutter can wear

down and blunt the blade. Contact the Epson Customer Support

Center.



Problems not indicated by lamps

Turn the printer power ON.

MEMO

The printer can be connected to a computer and a mobile device at the

same time, but once you have executed a printing or other operation from

one of these devices, you can no longer operate it from the other device.

Similarly, when the printer is communicating wirelessly (pairing) with

one mobile device, the printer cannot be operated from another mobile

device.

Download the editing software and printer driver from the

Auto power-o

The printer's power turns o automatically when the

printer has not been used for a preset amount of time.

Preset time when using the AC adapter: About 8 hours

Preset time when using batteries: About 20 minutes

The shortest label you can create with this printer is

approximately 22 mm long.

When creating a label shorter than 22 mm long, cut the

margins with scissors.
