INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERIES AND RECHARGEABLE
BATTERIES
-
Batteries/rechargeable batteries do not belong in the hands of children.
-
Do not leave batteries lying around in the open. There is a danger that children or pets may
swallow them. If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
-
Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries in contact with the skin can cause acid
burns; therefore, use suitable safety gloves.
-
Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into fi re.
There is a risk of explosion!
-
Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries; risk of explosion! Only charge recharge-
able batteries that are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
-
Make sure that the polarity is correct when inserting the battery/rechargeable battery (pay
attention to plus/+ and minus/-).
SET-UP
-
Place the device on a stable, level and robust surface.
-
Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using a suitable underlay; otherwise, it may cause
scratch marks.
-
Don‘t place the thermometer in the direct vicinity of any heat source; otherwise the measured
value might be wrong. For this reason, direct solar radiation should also be avoided.
INSERTING/REPLACING THE BATTERY/RECHARGEABLE
BATTERY
Open the battery compartment on the rear of the housing and insert one battery of type AAA/
Micro with the correct polarity. The correct polarity is indicated in the battery compartment.
After inserting the battery, the device operates again.
Close the battery compartment again.
The battery must be replaced, if the contrast on the display fades or the display does no longer
functions.

Rechargeable batteries can be used. However, the lower operating voltage (rechargeable
battery = 1.2 V, battery 1.5 V) and lower capacity will reduce the operating time.
When the battery is replaced, the saved maximum and minimum values of the thermo-
meter will be deleted.
OPERATION

The sensor for the thermometer is inside the casing and thus also shows the tempera-
ture in the inner casing. Therefore, to obtain more accurate measured values, do not hold
the device in your hand or place it near a heat source.
The measurement display needs about 15 to 30 minutes to stabilise and to display an
accurate value.
-
In normal mode the display indicates the temperature‘s current value, the minimum value and
the maximum value simultaneously.
-
To delete the data memory and to start the recording of maximum and minimum value again,
press the RESET button.
-
Press the °C/°F button to toggle the display unit of the temperature value.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for any reason.
Please use a clean, soft, and dry cloth for cleaning.
Do not use any chemical cleaning agents, as they can discolour the plastic casing.
