CAREFULLY READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE
YOU USE THE CUTTING SAW!
1. SAFETY
When using electrical equipment, always observe
the safety instructions, thus reducing the risk of fire,
electrical shock and bodily harm.
PLEASE DO NOT SWITCH ON AND USE THE
EQUIPMENT UNTIL YOU AND ALL PERSONS
WHO WILL BE USING THIS EQUIPMENT HAVE
CAREFULLY READ AND UNDERSTOOD THESE
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS AND THE INFOR-
MATION ON THE NAMEPLATES. KEEP THESE
INSTRUCTIONS HANDY FOR REFERENCE PUR-
POSES.
1. Get to know your electrical equipment.
Find out not only about the possibilities and limita-
tions of your equipment but also about the specific
dangers which can arise from working with it.
2. Ensure that the equipment is properly con-
nected to the protective conductor [does not
apply to Protection Class II equipment with
the q indication].
(see Instructions for connecting the protective con-
ductor).
3. Choose your working environment carefully.
Do not expose your electrical equipment to rain and
do not use in wet or damp areas. Do not use in the
proximity of inflammable liquids and gases. Remove
objects such as waste or other materials which are
easily flammable.
4. Keep the work place clean and tidy.
Always work in well-lit conditions. Untidy and dark
working conditions can cause accidents.
5. Wear appropriate working clothes.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery which could
get caught in the machinery. When working out-
doors, wear rubber gloves and non-slip shoes. Keep
hands and gloves away from moving parts.
6. Wear protective gear.
All persons present in the operating area must wear
safety gloves and glasses in compliance with local
safety standards. When operating the machinery for
extended periods, always use ear protectors. Wear a
mask if the work causes dust to be created. Protec-
tive helmets, masks and shoes must be worn when
necessary and safety regulations require it. Always
keep a fire extinguisher close by.
7. Do not allow anyone to stand close to the
equipment.
Children and other bystanders must be kept at a
distance to prevent the operator from being distrac-
ted and the mains lead from being pulled accidentally.
8. Protect others in the work area from waste,
splinters and sparks.
When necessary, put barriers and safety guards in
place.
9. Keep machine and workpiece steady.
Always use clamps, chuck blocks and other practical
working aids, so that your hands are free and can hold
and control the machine more efficiently.
10.Use the right equipment and accessories. Do
not use equipment which is inappropriate for
the material, such as for example a circular
saw for sawing logs or tree trunks. Do not
modify electrical equipment.
11.Always use the recommended accessories,
which must be in perfect condition.
The use of any non-recommended accessories can
cause unnecessary risks. Ensure that accessories
have been installed correctly, and get then inspected
regularly. Always take care not to damage safety devi-
ces and equipment when installing accessories.
12.Inspect damaged equipment parts.
Before starting up the machine, inspect covers and
safety devices. Check for incorrectly aligned parts,
jammed moving parts, incorrect mounting, damaged
parts and other defects which could prevent the
machine from operating correctly. Switch off imme-
diately if excessive noise or vibration occur. Do not
continue until the problem has been resolved. Never
use damaged equipment. Until the machine has been
fully repaired, place a 'DO NOT USE' sign on it.
