On Operating Voltage

• Before operating the system, check that the opera-

ting voltage indicated on the typeplate of your system

is identical with the voltage of your

local power

supply. (The type plate is located at the

rear of your

system). If not, please consult your dealer.

On Placement

•

Place the system in a location with adequate ventila

tion to prevent internal heat build-up in your system.

• Do not expose the system to humidity or rain, sand

or to excessive heat.

• Caution should be exercised if the set is placed on

furniture as surfaces are often coated with lacquers

and plastic finishes containing additives which

attack the material of which the feet of the set are

made, leaving stains which can only be removed

with difficulty or not at all.

On Safety

• Under no circumstances should you repair the

unit

yourself as this will invalidate the guarantee!

This product complies with the radio interference

requirements of the European Community.

• Electrostatic discharge may cause unexpected

symptoms. See whether these symptoms dis

appear

if you take the mains plug out of the wall

socket and

plug it in again after a short period.

• To disconnect the system from the mains completely,

withdraw the mains plug from the wall socket.

On Condensation

• If the system is brought directly from a cold to a

warm location, or is placed in a very damp room,

moisture may condense on the lens of the CD unit

inside the system. Should this occur, the CD player

will not operate normally. Leave the power on for

about 1 hour with no disc in the unit until normal

playback is possible.

A/B Antenna connection

• Connect the supplied FM wire antenna to the FM ANT. 75 Ω terminal. Adjust the position of

the FM antenna for the best reception.

• For better FM stereo reception connect an outdoor FM antenna to the FM ANT. 75 Ω terminal

using a 75 Ω antenna wire.

An AM loop antenna and a self-adhesive mounting bracket is supplied with the unit.

• To install the loop antenna, press the loop antenna into the bracket and connect the antenna

lead wires to the terminals marked MW ANT. LOOP.

Swing the loop antenna in and out to obtain the best reception.

NOTE: AM reception cannot be obtained until the AM loop antenna is connected. Keep the loop

antenna connected even if an outdoor AM antenna (not included) is used.
