Traffic information /
Enhanced other networks (EON)
Some RDS radio stations broadcast traffic
informations at certain times. These stations are
indicated by the symbol ' ' on the display.
The EON function is an additional RDS feature to
switch to a station broadcasting traffic information.
• Switch on the radio with the ON/OFF button.
• Tune to an RDS station.
• Press the button once.
• If the tuned station provides traffic information,
the ' ' symbol lights up on the display.
• If the tuned station does not provide traffic infor-
mation, the ' ' symbol will not light up and
you will hear a 'beep' tone when pressing .
• If the tuned station provides EON, the 'EON'
indicator on the display lights up, next to the
' ' symbol.
– An EON station does not contain traffic
information by itself but provides a reference to
another programme with traffic information.
– The radio will automatically tune to the other
station when this station starts broadcasting a
traffic announcement.
– During the EON traffic announcement the EON
symbol on the display flashes and the volume
will be increased.
• When the announcement is over, the radio will
return to the previous station.
• To immediately switch back to the previous
station, press the button.
• To disable this function, press the button.
Display
• Adjust the tilting angle of the display to improve
the contrast when viewing the display from
different positions.
Display backlight
The brightness of the display backlight will be in-
creased for 8 seconds when a button is pressed.
Positioning the set
Caution should be exercised if the set is placed on
furniture as surfaces are often coated with lacquers
and plastic finishes containing additives which
attack the material of which the feet of the set are
made, leaving stains which can only be removed
with difficulty or not at all.
Further notes:
• Only a soft cloth which picks up dust should be
used to clean the cabinet.
Do not use aggresive polishes or cleaning
agents.
• Do not expose the unit to moisture (e.g. dripping
or splashing).
• The type label is on the bottom of the unit.
