Then it’s the turn of the next player to roll the dice.
Always bear in mind the following once you have rolled the dice:
First move the water voles’ boat and then carry on constructing a lighthouse. Wally can only be
moved ahead if no lighthouse construction can be continued at that moment.
End of the Game
Once all the lighthouses are fi nished and are thus illuminating the sea before the boat has
reached Wally’s Island, you win the game together. Hooray! The treasure has been rescued!
However if the boat reaches Wally’s Island before your lighthouse buildings are complete,
then you are hit with water voles’ blues. The voles jump off the boat and catch the treasure.
Unfortunately you all lose together.
This applies even if in that very turn you rolled the color that you needed to fi nish the last
lighthouse.
Hint:
The game gets more diffi cult if at the beginning you place fewer sea cards.
Competitive variation
Lets begin the big lighthouse building competition!
In this competition each player tries to finish his lighthouses first and does not give away any
lighthouse disks. The variation is played according to the basic game with the following chan-
ges:
• If there are two players, each player takes 3 island cards.
• You only lay out three sea cards and the big island. Each time a player sets the boat on the
big island he may remove a disk from a lighthouse of another player and place it back in the
center of the table.
• Then the boat is placed back in front of the first sea card.
• Lighthouses that have been finished may not be touched; they are safe.
• If a player cannot use one or both colors on the dice for his lighthouse he moves Wally Walrus
ahead one or two islands.
• The player who finishes his lighthouses first, wins the game.
