Who will be the fi rst to collect four different types of sweets?
Just like in the fairytale, Hansel and Gretel try to take sweets from the house
without the evil witch noticing. Some sweets are easy to get. But watch out! If you
grab the wrong sweet, the witch will come outside and you will have to replace the
sweet back onto the house. So remember which sweets you can and can’t take!
The fi rst player to collect the four different types of sweets is the winner!

4 Hansel and Gretel playing pieces
1 witch’s house of sweets
24 sweets (6x chocolates, 6x heart-shaped candies, 6x meringues, 6x biscuits)
1 game board
1 dice
1 pin
Preparations
1. Place the batteries in the appropriate compartment (see the heading ‘Warnings for battery
use’ in this manual).
2. Stick the pin into the hole in the middle of the game board with the handle facing upwards.
Place the board on a fl at surface and position the house over the pin so that it fi ts into the
hole on the bottom of the house.
3. Put the 24 sweets on the sides of the roof. There are 6 places available on the house for
each type of sweet. These can be recognised by the shapes that have been formed in the
plastic. Choose an appropriate position for each type of sweet.
4. Place a Hansel and Gretel playing piece on the game board for each player (2-4 players).
Each colour has a fi xed starting position. These are indicated on the game board with a
matching colour.
5. Before you start the game, make sure that the switch is in the OFF position. Then switch on
the game by using the switch under the oven on the back of the house. The game has two
levels. (See the heading ‘game levels’ in this manual).
Aim of the game
The fi rst player to collect the four different types of sweets from the house is the winner.
Starting the game
The youngest player begins. Everyone takes turns to throw the dice and move their Hansel and
Gretel in a clockwise direction. The dice determines how many squares you move your Hansel
and Gretel. Only one Hansel and Gretel are allowed on each square. If someone is already on
the square, you have to move to the next empty square.
