Memory reset (Initialization)

When the following situations occur, reset the memory:

There is no response when buttons are pressed.

You want to clear and reset the memory contents.

•

1 Disconnect the AC power supply cord. (Wait at least 3 minutes before proceeding to step 2.)

2 While pressing and holding down [8] on the main unit, reconnect the AC power supply cord.

“ ---------” appears on the display.

3 Release [8]

All the settings are returned to the factory preset.

You will need to reset the memory items.

Unit displays

Although the unit is in standby

mode, the display lights up

and changes continuously.

Turn off the demo function. (If you set the clock, the demo function turns off automatically.)

“NO PLAY”

You inserted a disc which the unit cannot play; insert one that can. (11)

You inserted a blank disc.

•

“NO DISC”

You haven’t inserted a disc; insert one.

You haven’t inserted the disc correctly; insert it correctly. (4, 12)

•

“F61”

Check and correct the speaker cord connections. (6, 7)

If this does not ﬁx the problem, there is a power supply problem. Consult the dealer.

“DVD U11” Disc is dirty. Wipe it clean. (4)•

“ERROR” Incorrect operation performed. Read the instructions and try again.•

“DVD H ”

stands for a number.

Trouble may have occurred. The number following “H” depends on the status of the unit.

Reset procedure:

Press [^] to switch the unit to standby mode and then back to ON. Alternatively, press

[^] to switch the unit to standby mode, disconnect the AC power supply cord, and then

reconnect it.

If the service numbers fail to clear, note the service number and contact a qualiﬁed service

person.

Television displays

“Cannot display group xx,

content xx.”

You are trying to display incompatible contents.•

No on-screen display. Go to “Display” tab in the Setup menus, and select “On” for “On-Screen Messages”. (22)•

“5” The operation is prohibited by the unit or disc.•

“Check the disc” The disc may be dirty.•

“Authorization Error”

DivX

You are trying to play the DivX VOD content that was purchased with a different registration

code. You cannot play the content on this unit.

•

“Rental Expired”

“Rental Movie Expired”

DivX

The DivX VOD content has zero remaining plays. You cannot play it. •

Disc trays

Disc tray(s) cannot open.

“CHGR ERR” is displayed.

Press [^] to release the jammed tray(s) as the unit will switch off. Switch it on again and the

tray(s) will initialize to the previous tray(s) condition.

If this still does not ﬁx the problem, please consult the dealer.

•

To clean this unit, wipe with a soft, dry cloth.

Never use alcohol, paint thinner or benzine to clean this unit.

Before using chemically treated cloth, read the instructions

that came with the cloth carefully.

•

Maintenance

For a cleaner, crisper sound (cassette deck)

Clean the heads regularly to assure good quality playback and

recording. Use a cleaning tape (not included).
