Repairs and servicing

Guarantee

Repairs in the warranty and post-warranty periods are

carried out by the servicing workshops listed in the

index of addresses.

We guarantee PROTOOL appliances in accordance

with statutory/country-specific regulations (proof of

purchase by invoice or delivery note).

Damage attributable to normal wear and tear, overload

or improper handling will be excluded from the

guarantee.

In case of compliant please send the machine,

undismantled, to your dealer or the Service Centre for

electric power tools.

Maintenance and care

Storage

Product conformity declaration

- The carpentry planer requires practically no

maintenance.

- Lubrication for the antifriction bearings is designed to

last for the service life of the electric tool.

- However, it is recommended to remove accumulated

dust and chips regularly by blowing compressed air

through the motor ventilation holes while the motor is

running.

- The guide faces are to be kept clean from resins and

similar deposits.

- Bearing surfaces on the bottom of the planer should

be rubbed with an anti-seize agent (“Silbergleit” or

wax) time to time.

- The carbon brushes are specially designed to allow

their wear only to the minimum usable length. Then

the power supply circuit is automatically interrupted

and the electric tool stops running.

- Replacement of the carbon brushes is to be carried

out by specialized service staff only.

Noise and vibration levels measured and determined

according to EN 50 144.

The typical A-weighted noise levels of the electric tool

are:

Sound pressure level: 103 dB(A);

Sound power level: 116 dB(A).

The typical level of hand-arm vibration is less than

2,5 m/s .

Packed electric tools may be stored in dry unheated

storerooms with temperatures not dropping below -5°C.

Unpacked electric tools shall be stored only in dry self-

contained storerooms with temperatures not dropping

below +5°C, where sudden temperature changes are

prevented.

complies with the requirements of the following

standards and regulations:

EN 50 144-1, EN 50 144-2-14, EN 55 014-1,

EN 55 014-2, EN 61 000-3-2, EN 61 000-3-3

according to the provisions of the directives

89/336/EEC, 98/37/EC.

After their service life is ended, submit the electric tool,

its accessories and packages to a disposal premise to

allow reusing of the raw materials.

To allow material-sorted recycling, all plastic

components are marked with relevant symbols.

Removing the blade

Fitting the blade

The following instructions must be followed exactly.

- Pull the plug from the mains socket.

- Lock the cutting head (15) against rotation (insert a

pin into the hole (19)).

- Loosen the fixing screws (20) and pull out the blades

(16) together with the backing plate (17) upwards.

- Remove the clamping rail (18) upwards.

- Clean the backing faces.

- Replace the clamping rail (18) from above back in

the original position.

- Place the blade (16) to the backing plate (17) and

push both parts back from above into the cutting

head (15), observing correct position according to

the illustration.

- Move the blade attachment system laterally, such as

the side edge of the blade (16) is aligned with edges

of the fixed (8) and adjustable (7) shoes of the

planer.

- Press the blade attachment system down (using a

piece of wood or gloves) and slightly tighten the

fixing screws (20), starting from center of the cutting

head, then tighten the screws with the torque

of 7 N.m.

Mounting position of the blade attachment system has

been pre-adjusted in the factory, therefore no height

alignment of blades to the cutting circle is necessary.
