You may already be familiar with using a similar product, but do please take time to read these
instructions - they have been written to ensure you get the very best from your purchase.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY
CAUTION
Read these safety instructions thoroughly before connecting this product to the mains
supply.
Before switching on, make sure that the voltage of your electricity supply is the same as that
indicated on the rating plate. This product is designed to operate on 230VAC 50Hz. Connecting
it to any other power source may cause damage.
If the plug has to be changed because it is not suitable for your socket, or due to damage, it
should be brought to a Service Center or to your dealer.
PRODUCT SAFETY
Make sure that the power voltage of the appliance corresponds to that of the mains power
system.
Never use the appliance near to walls or curtains.
Do not leave the appliance exposed to the elements (rain, sun, etc.).
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Always use the appliance on a flat surface.
Place the product on a stable, heat-resistant surface in a well-lit area.
Do not use this appliance out of doors.
Make sure that the power cord does not come into contact with hot surfaces.
While the appliance is working the temperature of accessible surfaces can be
very high.
Switch off and unplug the appliance when not in use and before cleaning.
Never pull the power cord to remove the plug.
Never use abrasive or corrosive detergents to clean the appliance. This appliance is not
dishwasher safe.
NEVER IMMERSE THE POWER CORD IN THE WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS!
Do not use the appliance if the power cord or plug is damaged or if the appliance itself is
faulty; in this case, take the appliance to your nearest Authorised Assistance Centre.

This appliance has been designed for HOME USE ONLY and may not be used for
business or industrial purposes.
The use of a suction fan or suitable ventilation of the room is recommended during use.
Never place the appliance on or near to sources of heat, electrical elements or in a
heated oven.
Do not place it on other appliances.
Keep a careful watch over the appliance when used in the presence of children.
In the event that you decide to dispose of the appliance, we advise you to make it
inoperative by cutting off the power cord.
We also recommend that any parts that could be dangerous be rendered harmless,
especially for children, who may play with the appliance or its parts.
Packaging must never be left within the reach of children since it is potentially dangerous.
This appliance conforms to the 2006/95/EC and EMC2004/108/EEC directives.
BEFORE USE THE APPLIANCE
Lightly grease the baking surfaces before the unit is used for the first time.
Operate the unit at the “Max.” position for approx. 10 minutes with the baking
section closed (see “Using the unit”). Then wipe it down with a damp cloth.
• Please do not eat the first pieces of toast you make.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
• Put the plug into an earthed 230 V, 50 Hz mains socket and close the close the Sandwitch
Maker. Both control lamps light up.
The red control lamp (1) lights up during heating. Keep the baking unit closed during the
warming-up time, it takes around 5 minutes. The green light (2) goes out once the heating
time is over and the baking temperature has been reached.
Open the lid and insert slice of toast or sandwitch with filling in between into each slit. Then
close the lid gently. In case, lock the handles into place by using the hinge, but do not
forceshut.
