Prior to initial use

Remove all packaging from both appliance and equipment. Wipe the appliance and especially

the toast plates with a damp cloth. Before using the appliance for the ﬁrst time heat it up for

several minutes. Please do not be bothered by the slight, harmless smoke and smell that will

be generated for a short while.

How to operate your appliance

Switching on

We recommend preparing the ingredients for your sandwiches before switching-on. The sand-

wich maker heats up quickly and is ready for use in no time.

Open the clamp on the handle. Open the appliance as far as it will go. Oil or grease the toast

plates slightly. Close the lid.

Connect the appliance to the mains supply. The appliance is now switched on and heats up.

The red pilot lamp glows. As soon as the appliance is heated-up the green pilot lamp glows

and indicates that the appliance has reached the operating temperature.

You can start ﬁlling now.

Note: Always heat up the appliance with lid closed. This saves energy!

Operating

Fill the sandwiches according to your taste and fantasy. Toast is suitable best for your sand-

wiches. Try also wholemeal or wholegrain toast beside wheat toast. The outsides of the toast

slices should also be slightly spread with butter, margarine or oil. Try also the sweet version

with commercial puff pastry and fruit ﬁlling.

Place the sandwiches in the appliance. Close the appliance with slight pressure and close

the clamp on the handle. The green pilot lamp goes out. The sandwich maker heats up. The

sandwiches are ready after 2 to 4 minutes – depending on the ingredients, ﬁlling quantity

and desired toasting level.

The illumination of the green pilot lamp is not a ready signal. It only indicates that the sand-

wich maker has reached the operating temperature. Decide for yourself how you like your

sandwiches and check the level of browning. (Experience showed that the sandwiches are

ready after 2 to 3 minutes.) Take the sandwiches out by using a wooden or plastic spatula in

order to avoid damaging the non-stick coating of the toast plates. When the green pilot lamp

glows again, the appliance can be ﬁlled anew.

Note: For a good toasting result we recommend not ﬁlling the sandwiches too plumply so that

no ingredients escape. Make sure the ﬁlling is arranged equally.

Switching off

Switch off the appliance by pulling the mains plug. The pilot lamps go out.

Attention! During operation, the appliance’s surfaces are getting hot and ﬁrstly stay hot

even after switching off the appliance! Hazard of burns!

Cleaning and maintenance

ATTENTION: Hazard of injury and burns!

Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance and

let all parts cool down.

Clean the appliance after each use. It can be cleaned best when it is lukewarm.
