13 Press the switch to start the motor, release it to switch oﬀ.

14 Keep an eye on the bowl, to avoid over-processing.

15 It’s best to run the motor in bursts of a few seconds at a time, and inspect the results

between bursts.

16 Its clever design lets you twist and turn the chopper, up-, down-, back-, fore-, and side-ways,

if you spot an ingredient that’s managed to avoid the blades.

17 Lift the motor unit oﬀ the bowl.

18 Turn the lid anti-clockwise to unlock it.

19 Lift the lid oﬀ the bowl – hold it at an angle, to let anything on it drip back into the bowl.

20 Put a ﬁnger on top of the blade unit, to stop it falling out.

21 Tip the processed contents out of the bowl.

22 Alternatively, hold the plastic part of the blade unit, turn it to free it from the spindle ﬂanges,

and lift it straight up and out of the bowl.

a couple of tips

•Cut your ingredients into small pieces before processing.

•Chocolate, nuts, and cheese will chop/grind better if thoroughly chilled ﬁrst.

23 Don’t ﬁll with anything hotter than you can comfortably handle (i.e. around 40°C).

caution keep your hands away from the blades – they’re sharp.

24 Unplug before dismantling or cleaning.

25 Turn the lid anti-clockwise to unlock it, and lift it oﬀ the bowl.

26 Hold the plastic part of the blade unit, turn it to free it from the spindle ﬂanges, and lift it

straight up and out of the bowl.

27 Handle only the plastic – don’t touch the metal parts.

28 Wash the bowl, lid, and blade unit in warm soapy water.

29 Rinse to remove all traces of soap and dry thoroughly before use.

30 Check that the seal is seated in its groove.

31 Clean the inside of the blade unit with a toothpick.

32 Don’t put the motor unit in water or any other liquid.

33 Don’t use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.

34 You may wash the bowl, lid, and blade unit in a dishwasher.

35 If you use a dishwasher, the harsh environment inside the dishwasher will aﬀect the surface

ﬁnishes.

36 The damage should be cosmetic only, and should not aﬀect the operation of the appliance.

37 Store the appliance away from direct sunlight, and, if possible, from ﬂuorescent light.

38 Carotenoids, which are found in many other vegetables as well as carrots, can cause severe

staining. This staining may be impossible to remove. Don’t worry about it, it won’t aﬀect the

operation of the appliance.
