Power Supply
To insert the battery, first open the battery cover (10) by sliding it in
the direction shown by the arrow. Insert two AA (UM-3) sizes battery
into the compartment.
Earphones
Plug the earphones (not supplied) into the earphones jack (8) for
private listening. This will disconnect the speaker.
Telescopic antenna
The Telescopic antenna (7) is for FM/TV band reception. Extend and
rotate it for best FM/TV reception. There is a separate directional
antenna built into the radio for MW (AM) reception. To achieve the
best MW (AM) reception, it may be necessary to rotate the radio.
Power and Volume control switch
Turn on the power by switching the Power/Volume control switch (1).
Adjust it to the desired level of sound. Rotating the control clockwise
will increase the sound level.
MW(AM)/FM/TVL/TVH band selector (9)
Set the band selector to the desired waveband.
Tuning Control
Slowly rotate the tuning control (5) to select the desired station.
Dial Scale/Dial pointer (4)
Rotate the tuning control until the dial pointer corresponds to the
frequency of the desired station.
General maintenance
Do not allow this unit to be exposed to water, steam or sand.
Do not leave the unit where excessive heat could damage such as in
a parked car where the heat from the sun can build up even though
the outside temperature may not seem too high.
It is recommended that the FM band be used were ever possible as
better results in terms of quality and freedom from interference will
usually be obtained than on the MW (AM) band.

Suministro elé ctrico
Para insertar las baterí as, abra la tapa del compartimento (10) deslizándola
en la direcció n señ alada por la flecha. Introduzca en el compartimento dos
pilas del tipo AA (UM-3).
Auriculares
Conecte los auriculares (no se incluyen con el aparato) en la toma de
auriculares (8). De esta forma se desconectará el altavoz.
Antena telescó pica
Para la recepció n en FM/TV se utiliza la antena telescó pica (7). Para obtener
una recepció n ó ptima extienda la antena y gí rela. El interior del aparato
alberga una antena direccional independiente para la recepció n en MW
(AM). Para obtener una recepció n ó ptima en MW (AM) gire la radio.
Control de volumen y conexió n
Utilice el control de volumen/conexió n (1) para encender el aparato de radio
y ajustar el volumen al nivel deseado. Para subir el volumen gí relo hacia la
derecha.
Selector de banda MW(AM)/FM/TVL/TVH (9)
Coloque el selector de banda en la banda de frecuencia deseada.
Control de sintonizació n
Para sintonizar la emisora de su preferencia gire lentamente el control de
sintonizació n (5).
Puntero del dial/escala del dial (4)
Gire el control de sintonizació n hasta que el puntero del dial corresponda a
la frecuencia de la emisora que desee.
Mantenimiento
No exponga el aparato de radio al agua, vapor o arena. No deje la unidad en
lugares donde un calor excesivo pueda producir dañ os, por ejemplo, en un
coche aparcado donde el calor del sol puede ser intenso incluso aunque la
temperatura exterior no parezca muy elevada. Recomendamos que, en la
medida de lo posible, utilice la banda de FM ya que, por lo general, ofrece
una mejor calidad de recepció n y menos interferencias que la banda MW
(AM).
