Installation and Connection
Pay attention to the chapter “Safety Instructions” and the chapter
“Preparations for Connection and Installation”.
First, switch off the mains voltage to all poles.
Remove the wall mounting plate from the back, by removing the two xing screws
on the lower edge.
You will nd the temperature sensor on the rear of the
room temperature regulator, which is attached by two
spring clips (see picture right).
If desired, you can replace these internal sensors with
an external sensor (this is not included in the room
temperature regulator package; it can be ordered se-
parately).
Pull the two-poled spring clips from the contact pin, to
attach easily, and then loosen the two screws, which
attach the sensor and take out the sensor. Keep this
for later use.
Next attach the two wires of the external sensor to the screw clips. The polarity is not
important here.
Finally, insert the two-poled screw clips back onto the contact pin.
Place the connecting line to the external sensor in a suitable way: place the sensor
according to your needs (for example, for in- oor heating near the ground).
The wall mounting plate can be directly mounted using the two mounting holes with
two screws in a ush socket (hole/screw separation 60 mm).
Depending on the wall surface, the wall mounting plate can also be secured to the
wall with appropriate screws and wall plugs.
Pay attention when drilling and and tightening the screws that no cables or
pipes are damaged!
Before installation, run the power cable and the connection cables to the heater
through the opening in the wall mounting plate.
Connect the mains cable using the connections “L” (phase, brown cable) and “N”
(neutral line, blue cable).
Connect the cable to the screw clamps “NO”, “COM” and
“NC”. The relay operates potential-free.
Pay attention to the maximum contact load capacity; see
chapter “Technical Data” and the operating instructions for
the device that is to be controlled by the thermostat to see
how to carry out the wiring.
“NC” Breaker (NC = “normally closed” = in the rest state, the contact is closed)
“NO” Maker (NO = “normally open” = in the rest state, the contact is open)
“COM” Centre contact
Set the thermostat on the mounting plate and then attach it used the screws remo-
ved at the start.
Make sure the thermostat is attached securely to the wall mounting plate.
Lastly, turn on the mains voltage again.
Function
Use the knob to set the desired temperature. If the relay is activated, the blue control
LED lights up.
Example: The room temperature is +20 °C; you want a temperature of +25 °C.
Turn the knob so the arrow points to the position “25”.
The relay switches on (connections “COM" and “NO” are connected); the
blue control LED lights up.
At a temperature of +25.5 °C (set temperature value plus switch tempera-
ture difference), the relay is deactivated and the blue control LED goes out.
If the temperature falls below +24.5 °C (set temperature minus switch tem-
perature difference), the relay is activated again and the blue control LED
lights up.
The switch temperature difference of 0.5°C prevents switching a connected heater on
and off too frequently.
Tro u b les h o oti n g
The temperature variation in the room is too great (approx. 5 - 8 °C)
The neutral wire and the phase were switched during the connection of the thermostat.
The knob must be set higher than the desired room temperature
The neutral wire and the phase were switched during the connection of the thermostat.
The your room heater's thermal output is too low.
The thermostat is in uenced by external temperature in uences (e.g., by sunlight,
proximity to heaters or electrical devices).
The knob must be set lower than the desired room temperature
The thermostat is installed in the wrong place, e.g. behind a curtain, near a door or
on an exterior room wall.
The room does not get warm
The thermostat or the switch contact is dirty. Turn off the mains voltage and carefully
blow out the thermostat, e.g. with compressed air.
Multiple thermostats (e.g. for two rooms) are connected in series.
Slow reaction to the set temperature
In well-insulated buildings, it can take a long time for the room temperature to fall.
On the other hand, it can take a long time for the temperature to rise in poorly insu-
lated buildings and with cold exterior walls.
In any case, oor heaters react very slowly to the temperature setting.
Disposal
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statu-
tory regulations.
