* At least 2 rninutes should pass between two measurements.
* Do not expose the thermometer to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, dust or
shock.
* Do not splash with water or immerse the unit in water.
* Always cover the thermometer with the protective cap or store it in the soft case
while it is not in use.
* Do not use the thermometer when having scarred skin or other skin disorders on
the forehead.
* Avoid direct sunlight, fireplace heat and direct air conditioner flow on the forehead
while taking temperature.
Memory Function
The ThermoTek Temple Memory Function stores 8 measurements for 64 hours after
each temperature is taken. The last reading before the thermometer turns off is
stored in memory. To use the Memory Function, press and release the "MEMORY"
button ("M") while the thermometer is on. The LCD alternately displays the following
four times:
* The previous measurement.
* How many hours ago the measurement was taken. Pressing and releasing the
"MEMORY" button ("M") again will display the measurement prior to the last
measurement displayed. You can read all your stored readings by continuously
pressing the memory button.
°F/°C Switch
While the ThermoTek Temple is switched off, press the "M" (Memory) button and the
LCD will show "C" or "F', according to the existing reading, for a period of 5 seconds.
In order to change from °C to °F or vise versa, press the "M" button again while the
C/F display is on.
Care and Maintenance
The ThermoTek Temple thermometer has an infrared sensor, which is located inside
the soft tip. To avoid damage to the sensor, always cover the thermometer with the
protective cap and store in a safe place while not in use. If there is dust or water
inside the soft tip, gently clean with a soft tissue and aIIow it to dry before covering.
It is advised to occasionally clean the external part of the soft tip ( without touching
the sensor) with a 70% alcohol solution.
Battery Replacement
The ThermoTek Temple Forehead Thermometer includes one already installed 3V
Lithium battery. Approximate battery life is five years. If the "Low Battery" symbol is
displayed on the thermometer's LCD panel or the thermometer does not function at
all, immediately replace the battery as follows:
* Pull the battery cover straight back and up to remove it.
* Remove the old battery by pulling it out and up.
