5. When positioned on both sides, lightly tighten the sq. „U“
bolts and clamps. Check the spacing (20 mm) again with the
caravan’s weight on its wheels.
6. Fig. D: Check the extension tube is evenly positioned in the
middle. Tighten the 2 bolts up on each side of the centre tube
(15 Nm).
7. Check again with the caravan’s weight on its wheels the
20 mm spacing and fully tighten the remaining sq. „U“ bolts
(13 mm AF to 20 Nm).
8. Fig. B: Now that the Mover is positioned in the correct posi-
tion, the stop blocks should now be bolted onto the chassis
immediately behind and in front the mounting bracket. The
stop blocks ensure that the Mover does not move along the
chassis in operation.
Installation of motor cables and control unit
Remove battery cable terminals and disconnect any ex-
ternal electrical power before starting work. If you are
unsure about the electrical installation, have it checked out by
a qualified Auto Electrician.
Pre-fitted, each motor has two heavy-duty cables (4 mm
2
). All
the cables have to be routed along the underside of the cara-
van floor to the point where the electronic control unit will be
situated. A recommended location for installation of the con-
trol unit is in a bedding locker close to battery and Mover loca-
tions.
The ariel wire may not be shortened or lengthened and
not connected to the chassis. The battery connection
cables may not be lengthened.
1. Fig. F: Fit the control unit onto the floor of the bedding
locker with screws provided.
2. Drill a 25 mm hole, approximately 150 mm in front of control
unit for the motor cables. (Note: Take care to avoid any chas-
sis members, gas pipes and electrical wires).
3. Route the motor cables along the underside of the caravan
to the point where the control unit is located. The cabling can
be secured using the „P“ clips/screws and metal spring clips
provided. Take care to secure the cables so they will not chafe
on the chassis or sag below the floor (use supplied protection
tubing). Note: The motors move when the drive rollers are
engaged, so allow a little slack at the motors to avoid the
cables being stretched.
4. Fig. E and F: Connect the battery cables to the existing bat-
tery connections (red = positive: black = negative). Fix the
battery cables securely from the battery connectors to the con-
trol unit, using „P“ clips and screws. Note: Be particularly
careful that the main battery cables will not chafe - particularly
if passed through drilled holes in metal clad bulkheads. Use
water type tubing or a bush to prevent damage to the cables.
5. Bring the motor cables to the entry side of the control unit.
Note the identity of each cable in turn and cut to length. On
the cables crimp the provided spade connectors to the bared
cable ends (fig. G) and connect as illustrated (red = positive:
black = negative).
Excess cable must be cut to length and not looped inside
the bedding locker. A good quality connection on each
cable is essential!
Complete all cable terminations from the motors and battery
terminals, depending on the installation behind or in front of
the axle.
6. Ensure all electrical connections are sound and safely
clipped in place using „P“ clips provided.
Commissioning the Mover
1. Ensure the battery used to operate the Mover is fully
charged (do not operate the Mover if the voltage in the battery
is below 10.2 V DC).
2. Place the caravan outside in a clear area and pull on the
handbrake. Ensure that the rollers are disengaged from the
road tyres and the corner steadies are raised.
3. Connect battery terminals to battery, check that all cables
are secure and not hot or indicating signs of short circuits, etc.
4. Press the red button on the handset twice within one sec-
ond. This will switch on the handset and illuminate the handset
light. If the lamp does not illuminate, check the handset batter-
ies polarity and condition. The handset will switch itself off af-
ter 40 seconds if no buttons are pressed.
5. Check that both drive motors are stationary. With the hand-
set switched on, and within 2 m of the control unit, press the
forward button. Check that both drive motors are driven.
6. Press the red button again to switch off the handset and
Mover.
7. Engage the drive rollers by use of the 19 mm AF wrench
provided or the steady leg brace. The action will be quite stiff
and will snap into place. The movement required is just over
1/2 turn. Turn the wrench until it will turn no more without ex-
cessive force. do this on both sides of the caravan.
8. Ensure there are no obstructions around the caravan. Re-
lease the handbrake and switch on the handset. Now check all
functions several times according the operating instructions.
9. Press the red button again to switch the handset and Mover
off. Release the drive mechanisms with the wheel brace (19 mm)
and recheck the roller to tyre spacing. Adjust if necessary.
20 mm is the minimum distance that the Mover roller
should be from the tyre.
