CLEANING AND CARE
The multi charger is maintenance-free except for the potential replacement of the fuse.
Before cleaning or maintaining the product, make sure to observe the following safety
precautions:
Opening any covers on the product or removing parts – unless this is possible by
hand – may expose voltage-carrying components. Before cleaning or maintaining
the product, make sure to unplug any connected cables from the product and power
supply sources.
Do not use carbon cleaning agents, benzene, alcohol or similar for cleaning. Such would
damage the surface of the product. Moreover, the fumes are harmful and explosive.
Do not use sharp-edged screwdrivers, metal brushes or similar for cleaning.
Use a clean, lint-free, anti-static and slightly damp cloth to clean the product. Let the
product dry completely before next use.
Replacing the fuse in vehicle operation mode
1. If charging is not possible in vehicle operation mode (power indicator does not light up),
the fuse in the vehicle plug might be defective. Replace the fuse by a new one of the same
type and rated current.
2. Unscrew the front knurled nut of the vehicle plug and then pull the center contact together
with the fuse from the plug.
3. Replace the defective fuse by a new one.
4. Thoroughly reassemble the plug. The charger should then operate normally.
Using patched-up fuses or bypassing the fuse holder is not permitted due to safety
reasons. Failure to comply could cause re or arc ash explosions.
You may order a suitable replacement fuse with order no. 52 41 77.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Please follow the safety precautions.
Problem Solution
The power indicator does not
light up.
No operating voltage?
Check the respective power supply source for correct
operation (sufcient voltage available?)
Charger overloaded?
Disconnect any low voltage appliances and check their
specications.
Connected appliances do not
work.
Is the output voltage of 5 V/DC suitable for the
appliance?
Is the xed polarity suitable for the appliance?
Is the power indicator on?
Is the charger overloaded?
Check the specications of the appliances.
Any maintenance work, except for replacing the fuse, must be carried out by authorized
experts only.
