REPLACING BATTERIES5.
Unscrew the screw at the back of the digital multimeter.1.
Prise off the back cover carefully, with a screwdriver.2.
Replace the batteries while observing the correct polarity.3.
Ret the back cover and x it with the screw.4.
Replace the batteries, when the low battery icon appears on the display.
OPERATION6.
Do not measure voltage higher than 500 V / 500 V(rms). It may damage the
internal circuit.
Do not contact circuits or parts of circuits if there could be voltages higher
than 25 V AC(rms) or 35 V DC present within them. Mortal danger!
Before measuring, check the connected measuring cable for damage such as,
for example, cuts, cracks or squeezing. Defective measuring cables must no
longer be used. Mortal danger!
Standby mode
Press the ‘power on’ button to turn the digital multimeter on. The meter is in standby mode when
there is no signal input. The LCD shows ‘ALLin standby mode. Press the ‘power on’ button again
to turn off the digital multimeter.
Data hold
Press the ‘data hold’ button to freeze the reading. Press it again to release the reading.
Sleep mode
The digital multimeter enters the sleep mode if the meter is not used for 15 minutes. Press any
button to wake it up.
DC Voltage measurement
Touch the black test lead to the negative polarity and touch the red test lead to the positive 1.
polarity of the circuit to be tested. The polarity is not a factor in AC voltage measurement.
Read the measured voltage on the display. If the test leads are reversed, the ‘-‘ indicator 2.
appears on the display. When the voltage value is over range, ‘OL’ appears on the display.
When the measured voltage is less then 1 V, the digital multimeter switches to
resistance measuring mode automatically.
AC Voltage measurement
Touch the test leads to the desired test points on the circuit. The polarity is not a factor in AC 1.
voltage measurement.
Read the measured voltage on the display. When the voltage value is over range, ‘OL 2.
appears on the display.
When the measured voltage is less then 1 V (rms), the digital multimeter switches to
resistance measuring mode automatically.
Resistance and continuity measurement
To avoid electrical shock or damage to the digital multimeter, make sure the
power to the circuit is turned off and all capacitors are discharged before
measuring resistance or continuity.
Touch the test leads to the desired test points on the circuit.1.
Read the measured resistance on the display. If the resistance value is over range, ‘ALL2.
appears on the display.
If the resistance is under 30 Ω, the beeper sounds.3.
DISPOSAL7.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Version 01/10
VC-12 DIGITAL MULTIMETER
Item No. 12 30 59
INTENDED USE1.
The product is used to measure alternating / direct current voltage, resistance and continuity. The
following types of measurement can be taken:
Direct current voltage up to 500 V,
Alternating current voltage up to 500 V~,
Resistance up to 10 MΩ.
The product selects the correct measurement type automatically and it can hold the last reading
as well. Power is supplied by two AAA batteries. It is only authorized to be operated in dry indoor
environment.
This product fulls European and national requirements related to electromagnetic
compatibility (EMC). CE conformity has been veried and the relevant statements and
documents have been deposited at the manufacturer.
Unauthorised conversion and/or modication of the device are inadmissible because of safety
and approval reasons (CE). Any usage other than described above is not permitted and can
damage the product and lead to associated risks such as short-circuit, re, electric shock, etc.
Please read the operating instructions thoroughly and keep them for further reference.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS3.
We do not assume liability for resulting damages to property or personal injury
if the product has been abused in any way or damaged by improper use or
failure to observe these operating instructions. The warranty/ guarantee will
then expire!
The icon with exclamation mark indicates important information in the
operating instructions. Carefully read the whole operating instructions before
operating the device, otherwise there is risk of danger.
The triangle containing a lighting symbol warns of danger of an electric shock
or of the impairment of the electrical safety of the device.
The “arrow” symbol indicates special information and advice on operation of
the device.
This product has been CE-tested and meets the necessary European
guidelines.
Class 2 insulation (double or reinforced insulation)
CAT III
Over voltage category III for measuring building wiring installation (e.g. outlets
or sub distributions). This category also cover all smaller categories (e.g. CAT
II for measuring electronic devices).
Ground potential
Personal safety
The product is not a toy and should be kept out of reach of children!
Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become dangerous
playing material for children.
Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
Never pour liquids over electrical appliances and never leave objects lled with liquids (e.g.
vases) on it or in the vicinity. There is a high risk of re or life-threatening electric shock.
In schools, training facilities, hobby or self-service workshops, handling of electrical devices
must be monitored by trained personnel.
When operating on commercial premises, the relevant accident prevention regulations of
workers’ compensation boards for electrical equipment must be observed.
When working with power supplies or chargers, do not wear any metallic or conductive chains,
bracelets, rings etc. Never connect the power supply or charger with humans or animals.
Take particular care when dealing with voltages exceeding 25V AC or 35V DC! Even at these
voltages it is possible to get a fatal electric shock if you touch electric conductors.
Check the measuring device and its measuring lines for damage before each measurement.
Never carry out any measurements if the protecting insulation is defect (torn, ripped off etc.).
To avoid an electric shock, make sure not to touch the connections/measuring points to be
measured neither directly nor indirectly during measurement.
When during measuring, do not grip beyond the grip range markings present on the test
prods.
Do not use the multimeter immediately before, during or after thunder and lightning
(thunderstrike / high-energy overvoltages!). Please make sure that your hands, your shoes,
your clothing, the oor, switches and switching components are dry.
Product safety
When used in conjunction with other devices, observe the operating instructions and safety
notices of connected devices.
The product must not be subjected to heavy mechanical stress.
The product must not be exposed it to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, intense vibration,
or dampness.
Use the product in closed rooms only; do not use outdoors. Always avoid contact with moisture
such as in bathrooms or similar places.
Do not place any sources of open re, such as burning candles, on or next to the product.
If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it
from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
is visibly damaged, -
is no longer working properly, -
has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or -
has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses. -
Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage
the product.
Do not drill any holes or insert any screws into the housing to attach or mount the product. This
can damage the product and interfere with safety.
Do not switch the measuring instrument on immediately after it has been taken from a cold
to a warm environment. Condensation water that forms might destroy your device. Leave
the device switched off and wait until it has reached room temperature. Do not leave the
packaging material lying around carelessly since such materials can become dangerous toys
in the hands of children.
Battery safety
Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the batteries.
Batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long period of time to
avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries might cause acid burns when in
contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves to handle corrupted batteries.
Batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave the battery lying around, as there
is risk, that children or pets swallow it.
All the batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and new batteries in the
device can lead to battery leakage and device damage.
Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into re. Never recharge non-
rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
