which is routed between the wall socket and
the vehicle connector. The plugs are coded to
prevent incorrect connection. In addition, the
connection cable has an ergonomic handle,
which is shaped so that it can also be gripped
with gloves and the cable can be connected to
the vehicle with one hand.
2.5 Engine heater 1850 WTS
The Plugtronic 1850 W engine heater with a
12VDC or 24 VDC circulation pump is used to
heat the cooling water circuit of the vehicle and
thus heats the engine and the climate system.
The 1850W engine heater therefore ensures that
the windscreen is thawed via the climate system
and the vehicle interior is heated. The 1850 WTS
engine heater heats the water circuit to approx.
+50°C first before the climate system of the
vehicle is activated. The Plugtronic 1850 WTS
can be used to heat the vehicle interior and to
ensure clear, demisted windows and wind-
screens, without heating the engine.
At the vehicle’s climate control panel, select
the highest temperature level with defrost
setting and a low blower level of 1 or 2. If you
preheat your vehicle with Plugtronic, you have
a preheated engine, a warm vehicle interior and
clear windows and windscreens. If Eberspächer
EasyFan is installed to activate the climate
system, settings on the panel are not necessary.
It is done automatically by EasyFan.
A pre-heated engine is exposed to less mechan-
ical wear on starting, burns less fuel and
produces less emissions than with a cold start.
The effective heating of Plugtronic also means
that hot air from the blower is available only a
few seconds after starting.
The water pump and climate system draw their
power from the vehicle’s battery. We therefore
recommend installation of the Plugtronic battery
charger in the system. The recommended
operating period depends on the temperature
and the size of the vehicle and is between 0.5
and 3 hours.
