Supporting the workpiece and adjusting the cut-
ting angle
Always use a chuck block and guard to hold the work-
piece securely on the machine table. The chuck block can
be moved forwards or backwards, and the angle can be
adjusted as required. The guard can also be moved for-
wards or backwards and the angle can be adjusted to the
left between 0 and 45 as required.
1. To adjust the guard, use the wrench provided to loo-
sen the two screws which secure the guard, turning
anti-clockwise.
Adjust the position and angle of the guard as requi-
red.
2. To adjust the chuck block, pull the clamping lever
back in order to release the rapid interrupt lever.
Turn the clamping lever anti-clockwise to push the
chuck block back and clockwise to bring it forward.
Set the position and angle of the guard as required.
Push the rapid interrupt lever forward so that it enga-
ges with the thread and locks the clutch block. Then
turn the clamping lever clockwise to lock in place in
the chosen position.
Choosing the workpiece
The disc cutting saw is designed for cutting steel and con-
crete pipes. Wood cutting is not recommended. Do not
attempt to fit a saw blade onto the machine.
Starting up and switching off the machine
The machine can attain 3600 rpm without straining the
motor. To start the motor, connect to the mains, press
the on switch and pull the release. To switch off the
machine, return the release to its original position.
Cutting procedure
1. Choose a cutting angle and position the guard device
and chuck block correspondingly; follow the instruc-
tions given above under
"Supporting the workpiece and adjusting the
cutting angle"
2. Place the workpiece flat on the machine table. Turn
the chuck block lever clockwise until the chuck block
grips the workpiece firmly.
3. Connect to the mains, press the on switch and pull
the release. Let the motor run until it reaches normal
running speed. Lower the machine head slowly down
towards the workpiece. Always ensure that you cut
slowly and carefully. When starting up, avoid bringing
the disc down with a jerky motion. To ensure safe and
efficient cutting, position the disc as far as possible
towards the centre of the workpiece.
Upon completion of cutting operations, lift the
machine all the way up. Then lock the release, let the
motor run down and switch off the machine.
While running the machine, do not allow sparks
produced to cause a fire or explosion.
Assembly:
Connect both dust extractor pipes to the base of the disc
cutting saw. First switch on the dust extractor, then the
disc cutting saw.
5. MAINTENANCE
Before carrying out maintenance work, always
remove the mains plug, to avoid risk of injury. Never
attempt to take the machine apart or renew the electric wiring.
Maintenance of the machine
Keep your machine in good condition by keeping to a
regular maintenance programme. Before using, always
check the general condition of your machine, i.e. check
the guard devices, switches, mains connections and
extensions. Also watch out for loose screws, faulty align-
ment, securing of moving parts, incorrectly mounted or
damaged parts and other factors which could create
unsafe working conditions. If excessive noise or vibra-
tion occur, switch off the machine immediately. It may be
used again only when the problem has been fully resol-
ved. Never use damaged parts. These should be marked
"Do not use" until they have been repaired.
Cleaning
Clean ventilation openings of dust and dirt. Keep handles
clean and dry, and free of oil and lubricants. For cleaning,
always use mild products and a damp cloth, as some clea-
ners can damage plastic and other isolating pans. This
includes, among others, petrol, turpentine, lacquer and
paint thinners, cleaners containing chlorine, ammonia
and household cleaners containing ammonia. Never use
inflammable liquids in the proximity of your equipment.
To avoid risk of injury, electric shock or equipment
damage, never immerse the machine in liquids or
allow it to come into contact with liquids.
6. ACCESSORIES
Before securing or mounting accessories, always
disconnect the machine from the mains, to avoid
risk of injury. Only use recommended accessories; using any
non-recommended accessories can cause unnecessary risks.
Wrench
Replace with the same wrench as that provided with the
machine. Use the wrench for installing and mounting the
disc, and for adjusting the guard device
