TRANSMISSION

If the “BROADCAST REPORT” parameter was

enabled in the operating configuration, the facsimile

machine with print the report at the end of transmission.

For information on how to interpret the parameters

indicated on this report, see the “Connection activities”

section of the “ACTIVITY HANDLING” chapter.

POLLING TRANSMISSION

Using the “polling” method, a facsimile machine can request another facsimile machine to send a document.

The receiving facsimile machine calls the facsimile machine in possession of the original document and

requests transmission. The document must have been inserted in the ADF or previously stored. The receiver

is charged for the call instead of the sender.

This function enables you to send a document, on request by the correspondent, when you are out of the office.

To prevent this function being activated by unauthorized persons, the user in possession of the original

document can control polling by setting a polling identifier (which corresponds to the CSI of the receiving unit).

In this case, the document can only be sent if the transmitting and receiving facsimile machines have the same

polling identifier. This function is called reserved polling.

When you perform a polling operation that requires use of the memory, check the percentage of free memory

on the display. If the memory is almost full, clear it of documents no longer required and connection activities

already performed, so as to create space for new storage operations (see the “Connection activities” and

“Documents stored” sections of the “ACTIVITY HANDLING” chapter.

This section explains how to set and clear polling transmission operations.

o The facsimile machine is on. The document has been inserted and prepared for transmission (see the

“BEFORE TRANSMITTING/COPYING” chapter). Enter the polling identifiers if you want to use reserved

polling.

1. Press FUNCTION followed by 7.

2. Press START.

If no other polling tranmission is allowed, when you

press START you hear a beep and the message

“ALREADY BOOKED” followed by “BOOKING

CANCELLD” appears on the first line and

“YES=CONF. NO=CLR” appears on the second line

of display. Press CLEAR to confirm the previous

transmission or SET/CONF . to set a new one.
