Prior to use
Take the SBR 3.0 A1 (A) and the accessories out of the package and remove t he plastic packaging.
The SBR 3.0 A1 (A) must be fully charged before using it for the first time .
Charging the Blu etooth
®
audio transmitter /receiver
To charge the internal batt ery of the SBR 3.0 A1 (A), connec t the micro USB socket (7) via the
supplied USB charging ca ble (C) to the USB power supply. Insert the USB power supply into a socket
that is always easily accessible. The red LED (3) li ghts up while chargi ng and goes out when th e
battery is fully char ged.
Explanation of the RX and TX mo des and possible uses
The SBR 3.0 A1 (A) ca n be used in the follo wing two modes:
1. As receiver in RX m ode
In this mode , for example , you can play audi o signals from your sma rtphone vi a a Bluetooth
®
connection on your stereo system, which you have a lready connected to the SBR 3.0 A1 (A) via the
supplied RCA cable (B). Other possible playback d evices include, for ex ample, TV or active speake rs.
WARNING! Never oper ate the SBR 3.0 A1 in co njunction with wired headpho nes.
The use of wired headphones may create harmfu l sound pressure.
In RX mode, it is imperative that the devices from which the au dio signals are transmitted have a
Bluetooth
®
function.
The many possible uses of the SBR 3 .0 A1 depend on the devices which yo u want to connect. For

2. As transmitter in TX mode
In this mode, for example, you can wirelessly tr ansmit audio signals to a Bluetooth
®
headset or

loudspeaker from an audio source (for ex ample, TV, stereo system, MP3 player) which

®
and which y ou have alread y connecte d to the SBR 3.0 A1 v ia one of
the suppl ied cables (B , D).
In TX mode, it is imperative that the devices to which the audio signals are to be transmitted have a
Bluetooth

function.

The LED indicators and their meaning

First use
Please note that the range of a Bl uetooth
®
connection is res tricted. The distance
between transmitter and rec eiver should thus be 10 metres at most.
To restart the device from sta ndby mode, keep the button (1) presse d for approx. two
seconds.
RX mode (receiver mode)
Device was already connected to a B luetooth
®
device:
If you slide the mode selection switch (6) to the RX position, the device tries for approx. 300 seconds
to connect to the known Bluetooth
®
device and t hen switches to standby mode . Press the button (1) to
try to connect again for approx. 300 second s.
If the wireless connection is interrupted during operation, the device tries for approx. 300 seconds to
restore the connection and t hen switches to stand by mode. Press the button (1) to try to connect again
for approx. 300 seconds.
Insert the 3.5mm jack plu g of the supplied RCA cable (B) into the Audio Out socket (8) of t he SBR
3.0 A1. Then connect th e red plug of the RCA cable (B) to the right RCA audio input and the
white plug to the left RCA au dio input of your playback device ( for example, st ereo system, TV).
Your audio source must have an RCA audio input.
Device was not yet connecte d to a Blueto oth
®
device:
If you slide the mode selection switch (6) to the RX position, the device switches to pairing mode until it
is connected or switched o ff.
Slide the mode selection switch (6) to the RX position. The yellow LED (5) lights up. The pairing
mode is now activated and the blue LED (2) flas hes rapidly and continuously.
If you are asked for a PIN during the pairing process, en ter "0000".
Activate the Bluetooth
®
f u n c t i o n o n y o u r s m a r t p h o n e and start search ing for Bluetooth
®
devices.
You will recognise the Blu etooth
®
audio transmitter/receiver SBR 3.0 A1 by its name "SBR 3.0
A1" in the list of devi ces which are found. S elect it and establish t he connection.
Once the connectio n is established, the blue LED (2) lights up continuously.
You can now listen t o music files stored on yo ur smartphone via the connected playbac k device .

TX mode (transmitt er mode)
Device was already connected to a B luetooth
®
device:
If you slide the mode selection switch (6) to the TX position, the SBR 3.0 A1 tries for approx. 300
seconds to connect to the known Blue tooth
®
device and th en switches to standby mode . If you now
press the button (1), the SBR 3.0 A1 switches to pairing mode for approx. 300 seconds and tries to
connect to a new device.
If the wireless connection is interrupted during operation, the device tries for approx. 300 seconds to
restore the connection and t hen switches to stand by mode. Press the button (1) to try to connect again
for approx. 300 seconds.
Connect the headpho ne socket of your audio source (for example, TV, stereo system, MP3
player) via the audio cable (D) to the A udio In socket (9) of the SBR 3.0 A1. If your audio source
has a 6.3mm headphone so cket, also use the adapter (F). Attach it first to a plug of the audio
cable (D) and the n insert it into the he adphone socket of y our audio source.
Alternatively, you can also connect yo ur audio source via the RCA cable (B) to the SBR 3.0 A1
(A). Your audio source must have an RCA audio output. Then connect the red plu g of the RCA
cable (B) to the right RCA audio output and the white plug to the left RCA audio output of your
audio source. Insert the 3.5 mm jack plug of the RCA cable (B) into the Au dio In socket (9) of the
SBR 3.0 A1.

®
device:
If you slide the mode selection switch (6) to the TX position, the devi ce switches to pairing mo de for
approx. 300 seconds and then switches to standby mode. Press the button (1) to star t pairing mode
again for approx. 300 seconds.
Now slide the mode selection switch (6) to the TX position. The green L ED (4) lights up. The
pairing mode is then activated for approx. 300 sec onds and the bl ue LED (2) flashes rapidl y and
continuously.
Also switch your Bluetooth
®
playback dev ice (for example , BT headphone s or BT loudspeaker s)
to pairing mode.

The two devices in pairing mode (SBR 3.0 A1 and Bluetooth
®
playback device) th en establ ish a
Bluetooth
®
connectio n. When the connection is established, this is indicated by the constant
lighting of the blue L ED (2) on the SBR 3 .0 A1 (A).
When the Bluetooth
®
connection i s established, the aud io signals of your audio source are
transmitted wirelessly to your playback device and are th en played by it.
Resetting the SBR 3.0 A1
To reset the SBR 3.0 A1 (A) and delete the previous connectio ns, slide the mode selection switch (6) to
the RX or TX position. Now keep the button (1) pressed for approx. 5 seconds until the gree n LED (4)
and the yellow LED (5) flash t hree times at the same ti me. The SBR 3.0 A1 is then in pairing mo de
again. Please note that r esetting the SBR 3.0 A1 delet es both the TX and RX connecti ons.
Storage when not in use
You should recharge the battery regularly if you do not u se the device for a pro longed
period of time. This will maintain the perfor mance of the b attery.
Store the device in a dry, cool location .
Troubleshooting
The transmission of the audio si gnal does not w ork or only p oorly
Make sure that the SBR 3.0 A1 (A) and the audio source or playback device are not too far
apart.
Make sure that the SBR 3.0 A1 (A) and the au dio source o r playback device are connected.
Make sure that the correct so cket (Audio In /Audio Out) is used.
Check whether th e internal battery is charged. Char ge it if necessary.
Check whether th e mode selection swit ch (6) is in the corre ct position.
Check the volume setting of th e playback device.
Check all cable connections.
Environmental and dis posal information
When the crossed out wheelie bin symbol appears on a product, this indicates that th e
product is subject to the Europea n Directive 2012/19/EU.
All old electrical and el ectronic devices must be separat ed from normal household waste
and disposed of at designated state facilities. The correct disposal of old devices in this
manner will preve nt environmenta l pollutio n and human he alth hazards.
For further information about proper disposal, contact you r local authorities, waste disposal office or
the shop where you bought the d evice.
The built-in battery cannot be remove d for disp osal.
Dispose of the packaging in an environmenta lly compatible manner. Cardboard can be put out for
municipal paper collections or brought to public colle ction points for recycling. Films an d plastic used
for packaging the device are collected by your local disposal services and disposed of in an
environmentall y compatible manner.

enquiries. If it is not possible to solve the problem on the phone, our hot line support staff will initiate
further servicing procedures depending on the fault. Within the warrant y period the product will be
repaired or replaced free of c harge as we deem appropriate. No new warranty period co mmences if
the product is repaired or replaced. Co nsumables such as batteries, r echargeable batteri es and lamps
are not covered by the warra nty.
